The Assistant to the Sudanese President, Faisal Ibrahim met with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing Monday.
During which Wang praised the Sudanese- Chinese relations.
“As strategic partners, China and Sudan always understand and support each other,” Wang said, adding that China will firmly continue to support Sudan to follow the development path suited to its national conditions, maintain social stability and resolutely oppose external forces interfering in Sudan’s internal affairs.
He also conveyed greetings from the Chinese president Xi Jinping to the Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir, wishing Sudan’s stability and progress.
For his part, Faisal briefed on the political and economic situation in the country, stressing the stability of security after the recent protests in some cities of the country.
He explained the measures taken by the government to overcome the current challenges.
He also appreciated China for its assistance to Sudan in maintaining national peace and stability, as well as promoting economic development.
He conveyed a written massage from Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to his Chinese counterpart, in which he thanked China for the support during the latest political developments in Sudan.
It is noteworthy that Ibrahim met with the President of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNBC), and discussed with him ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides to increase oil production, and stressed during the meeting on the readiness of Sudan to provide all facilities.
