Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar has praised the cooperation between Sudan and Egypt on the level of scientific research.
He said the Sudanese- Egyptian first forum is fruitful and reflect the cooperation between the two countries.
Abdel-Ghaffar said during a joint press conference with Sudanese Minister of Higher Education Al-Sadiq Al-Hadi Al-Mahdi on Tuesday at the guest house at Ain Shams University that they have agreed to enhance cooperation between them in the field of scientific research.
He added that the current forum opens the area of cooperation between all Sudanese and Egyptian universities.
He said that the Ministry of Higher Education is keen to boost relations between the two countries, adding that it always contacts with the Sudanese side for the interests of the two countries.
For his part, Sudanese Minister said that Egypt is always opening its doors to the Sudanese and that the Egyptian universities have been welcoming the Sudanese students since decades.
He pointed out that there are common issues between the two countries especially regarding water, agriculture and energy.
He added that he hoped that the cooperation between the Sudanese and Egyptian research centers , especially that Egypt has great expertise in various fields of science and Sudan has large areas of arable land needs Egyptian expertise.
He pointed out that he proposed to Egyptian the Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, to establish the Nile Valley Research Center to exchange experiences and work together to solve the problems facing the two countries, especially in the fields of renewable energy, water and agriculture.
He pointed out that the economic crisis in Sudan is about to solve, which led to the suspension of study in some universities, and that the media is unrealistic and Khartoum is stable and calm.
The first forum aims at enhancing the cooperation between Sudanese and Egyptian universities, providing opportunities for joint agreements, exchange of faculty visits and students between the two countries, increasing cooperation in joint educational programs and cooperation in research projects of mutual interest.
The forum will also discuss a number of scientific papers, including the vision of higher education in the two countries, the scientific research strategy in Egypt and Sudan, cooperation in the field of scientific research, the funding of research projects and provide training grants to Sudanese researchers in Egyptian research centers.
