The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in collaboration with humanitarian partners issued a report about the Presence of Aid Workers in International Organizations in Darfur.
According to OCHA in August 2017, there are 4,332 aid workers working in 55 international organizations across Darfur.
Most of them are employed by international NGOs (76%), the remainder work for the UN (23%) and other International Organizations (1%).
The overwhelming majority – 96% – of aid workers in Darfur are Sudanese nationals.
About 62% of aid workers in international organizations in Darfur are in North and South Darfur states.
The number of aid workers in international organizations in Darfur decreased by about 3% compared to 2016.
