Darfur Refugees in Chad to Return to Their Areas


Refugees Commission in Darfur states confirmed that large groups of Darfurian refugees in the camps in Chad have declared their desire to return to their villages, pointing out that voluntary return rate are increasing in the five states.

Speaking to SMC, Mujeeb Al-Radi Mohamed, refugee’s assistant commissioner, said that during their visit to the camps in Chad, they felt the refugees’ desire to evacuate the camps in Chad and return to Darfur, adding that a small rate of refugees demanded integration in the local community.

He added that the stable of security situations in Darfur contributed in the increasing of voluntary return rates.
