Deputy Director-General, Patents and Technology Sector of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) John Sandage will visits Sudan on Friday accompanied by Ali al Jazairi, senior counsellor at Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
The General Counsel for Intellectual Property, Adel Hilal said that the visit comes in implementation of the development plan signed between the Ministry of Justice and the WIPO and implementing the General Registrar of Intellectual Property Department strategy.
Additionally, the department Plan for 2019, on strengthening relations with regional and international organizations in the field of intellectual property and the exchange of experiences, training, rehabilitation and building the capacity of management staff and relevant authorities in response to the invitation of the Minister of Justice Mohammed Ahmed Salem to the Deputy Director General.
He said that the visit program includes meetings with some officials of the State and a visit to a number of (IP) related authorities in Sudan.
He pointed out that the accompanying program the visit includes an advanced training workshop sponsored by the Minister of Justice in the International University of Africa, which is a continuation of the previous workshop held in October 2018 in cooperation with the International University of Africa on Sunday, 17 February.
