“Dignity Dollar” Initiative Launched

A group of Sudanese expatriate activists has launched “the Dignity Dollar Initiative” in response to a call by Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok to make available a sum of $8 billion to revive the Sudanese economy.
The activists called on the prime minister to open a special account for the expatriates in order to deposit their contributions in dollars in order to provide the required amount so that the government does not have to request foreign aid.
This has found a wide response by the Sudanese in the diaspora countries, calling for depositing by each expatriate a sum of $500 refundable to provide $8 billion.
Social networking sites have been active in urging the Sudanese expatriates to responding to this call.
