Egyptian President to Visit Khartoum on Thursday

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi will start a two-day visit to Sudan on Thursday, during which he will hold bilateral talks with his Sudanese counterpart, president Omer Al-Bashir.

An official source said that Al-Sisi’s visit to Khartoum will address a number of issues between Khartoum and Cairo, where the talks are expected to discuss the crisis of the Nile water file and the issue of the border between the two countries, especially Halayeb and Shalatin, and the agreements signed between the two countries, beside informing Cairo on the developments of the negotiations of South Sudan warring parties, which is sponsored by Khartoum with a mandate from IGAD.

The ministers of irrigation, water, electricity and foreign affairs in the two countries will hold bilateral meetings ahead of the meeting between Al Bashir and Al-Sisi to discuss the files at the ministerial level.
