The Ministry of Energy and Mining has affirmed that it stands ready for the return of the oil and gas sector to its pioneering role through development of the fields and resolving the problems that led to reduction in production.
The Minister of Energy and Mining, Engineer Adil Ibrahim, has called on the international oil companies to come to invest in the oil and gas sector in the Sudan, which has encouraging comparative advantages for the companies.
This came when the Minister met the visiting delegation of Schlumberger Company, led by the executive director of the company for the Middle East, Engineer Karim Badawi.
The Minister reviewed the investment opportunities in the blocks of the Red Sea State and central Sudan besides investment in the services of producing oil fields for increasing production through use of modern technologies.
The Executive Director of the Company, on his part, affirmed their readiness for returning to Sudan and expanding their operations in development of oilfields and introducing new technologies that lead to increase of production, referring to the previous successes of the company.
