A delegation of European Union ambassadors, the US envoy to Khartoum and the United Nations Mine Action Office (UNMAO) will visit South Kordofan state on Tuesday to discuss the country’s mine action program.
speaking to (SMC) the director of the National Mine Amer Abdul Sadeq Abu Zeid, said that British Ambassador Irfan Siddiq heads the delegation, which includes the US executive, whose country is headed by a group of donors for this session.
Abdul Sadeq said the visit was aimed at monitoring the progress of the mine action program in the dangerous areas of South Kordofan. He will also meet the ambassadors of the state and listen to enlightenment on the plan for the removal program.
The delegation includes the Director of the British Development Agency between Fischer, the Director of the United States Agency for International Development, the Director of the United Nations Development Program for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration, as well as representatives of embassies of Europe and Asia.
