The Foreign Ministry expressed its regret at the Eritrean government’s continuing accusations against Sudan that are baseless. The Foreign Ministry stressed the firm commitment of the Government of Sudan to its consistent approach to the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
According to press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Ministry of Information of the State of Eritrea issued a press statement on May 14, which directly accused Sudan of its agreement with Ethiopia during the visit of the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia to Sudan to coordinate the support of the Eritrean armed opposition and facilitate its unrestricted movement on the borders of the two countries.
In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep surprise over the fabricated information contained in the statement of the Eritrean Ministry of Information and called on the Eritrean government to resolve its internal disputes without implicating Sudan in its issues and problems.
The statement pointed out that the visit of the Ethiopian Prime Minister to Sudan has been covered in the media and intensively, and bilateral meetings between the two presidents were open to all local, regional and international media, which did not mention the claims of the Eritrean government’s support for the armed opposition.
The statement called on the Eritrean government at the same time to resolve its internal differences without implicating Sudan in its issues and problems.
