Government Call AUHIP to Resume Two Areas Talks


A member of the government delegation to negotiate the two areas Al- Hdi Osman Ando, the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP) to call the parties to a final round of negotiations that will put an end to the conflicts of the region by signing a comprehensive peace agreement that meets the aspirations of the people of the region.

He said that the decision of President Omar al-Bashir to ceasefire and renew it for repeated periods is a positive step forward to create an atmosphere for peace.

“The cease-fire and cessation of hostilities have created a new reality in the peace issue in South Kordofan, where the paths of communication between the two sides have been opened,” said Ando, who is the deputy head of the National Congress Party in South Kordofan state.

He stressed the creation of all institutions for peace after the cessation of hostilities.

He said that the continuous movement among the youth sectors, civil administrations and peace activists has found great acceptance from the SPLM North sector, which in turn has committed itself to stopping the hostilities over the past three years.

Ando pointed to the return of large numbers of civilians and military from the ranks of the Popular Movement north, convinced of the futility of war, and in return to renew the cessation of hostilities from the leadership of the SPLM.
