Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi received at Al-Etihadiah Palace in Cairo yesterday Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly.
The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and horizons of promotion of their economic and commercial relations for serving the common interests of the two sisterly peoples, Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.
Prime Minister Hamdok briefed the Egyptian President on developments in Sudan after the success of the Revolution and the challenges facing the transitional period.
A session of official talks between Sudan and Egypt was held at the premises of the Egyptian Council of Ministers in Cairo yesterday, where Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok headed the Sudanese side, while his Egyptian counterpart Moustafa Madbouly led his country’s side.
The talks between the two sides tackled issues pertinent to promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing joint cooperation in all fields besides joint coordination concerning the regional and international issues.
Dr. Hamdok briefed the Egyptian side on the political developments in Sudan after the success of the glorious December Revolution and the challenges that face the civilian government during the transitional period and the arrangements that would be made to overcome these challenges.
Prime Minister Dr. Hamdok arrived in Cairo yesterday on an official visit to Egypt, where he was received at Cairo International Airport by his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Moustafa Madbouly.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Asma Mohamed Abdalla has said in a press statement that the visit of the Prime Minister to Egypt comes in the context of the fraternal relations between the two sisterly peoples and the strong historical bonds linking the two countries.
She praised the Egyptian role in support of Sudan at the regional and international arenas, affirming keenness of Sudan on consolidating its relations with Egypt as it is considered as a strategic partner to the country.
