IGAD Concerned over Foreign Interventions in Sudanese Affairs


The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has expressed concern over the foreign interventions in Sudan’s  internal affairs and the proliferation of initiatives for solving the political crisis.

In this regard it urged the effective external bodies to support the IGAD and the African Union (AU) initiative.

IGAD has affirmed its total commitment to play an effective role in the process of the unity of the Sudanese parties for solving their disagreements, calling on the international community for supporting the IGAD’s initiative.

This came in a statement issued by the IGAD Council of Ministers following its meeting that was held recently in Addis Ababa.

The Council has also stressed the importance of coordination and collaboration of efforts with the special advisor of the Chairperson of the AU Commission.
