Meetings on Border Demarcation to Start Between Khartoum and Juba Next Week

The Technical Committee for the demarcation of the borders of Sudan has announced the start of the joint committee meetings between Khartoum and Juba next week in Khartoum.

Speaking to the SMC the head of the technical committee for demarcation of the border Abdalla AlSadiq said, “The meeting will be held next Monday to discuss the acceleration of the demarcation process and the work that paves the way for the demarcation,” he also pointed out that the second meeting will be held in South Sudan in late December and joint committees reached during the previous meetings to achieve significant progress between the two sides on the process of demarcation.
SMC reports indicate that in previous meetings, the committee managed to denarcate 80% of the border, which is more than 2,000 km long, but was not completed due to the frequent postponement of the meetings.
