Sudan’s Minister of Minerals Hashim Ali Salim, urged companies and investors from Russia to participate in the development of the sector in Sudan.
During his official visit to Moscow, he said to the Russian agency (Ria Novosti) that companies are invited to discover the potential reserves of the 35 types of minerals but have only extracted 13 of them so far.
The minister urged companies to invest in the extraction and refining of the rest of the minerals, adding that all doors are open to Russian companies.
The minister stressed that the Sudanese side wants to strengthen and promote the mining industry in the country’s but may briefly allow the export of raw material.
He added that Khartoum is the process of setting up the first stock exchange for the Minerals before the end of this year, in order to eliminate the smuggling of gold.
