The Director General of National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Salah Abdullah Gosh has provided an enlightenment to the US Congress’s delegation on the current situations in Sudan.
A delegation from US Congress is visiting the country, headed by US congressman the leader of the Freedoms Bloc, Gus M. Bilirakis.
Gosh informed the delegation about the positive results of the President Al-Bashir recent decisions to maintain the country’s national security and cohesion.
The two sides also discussed the importance of cooperation between the Sudanese government and the US administration in a number of political, economic and security fields.
The meeting discussed the importance of relations between Khartoum and Washington and how to develop them in the interest of the people of the two countries.
The delegation will meet with the speaker of the Sudanese Parliament, the prime minister and ministers of Foreign Affairs and Justice, in addition to opposition leaders and representatives of professionals, businessmen and churches.
The US delegation began its visit to Khartoum by visiting the Greek Orthodox Church in Khartoum and the school attached to it and to assure the conditions of the Greek community in Sudan.
The visit comes at a time when the second round of the US-Sudanese dialogue is expected to begin over the removal of the name of Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and the normalization of relations between the two countries, following the lifting of the economic and trade embargo imposed by Washington on Khartoum.
