Sudan and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) discussed the opening of country office in Khartoum to follow up the human rights in the country.
This come when Sudanese Foreign Minister Asmaa Mohammed Abdullah met on Tuesday with OHCHR’s Head of Field Operations and Technical Cooperation Division (FOTCD),Africa Branch, Juliet de Rivero.
The Minister stressed the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all relevant authorities, Sudanese parties and civil society organizations to provide the necessary support and raise awareness of human rights and peace.
For her part, Rivero praised the positive developments in Sudan and announced the continuation of efforts for cooperation to promote human rights in Sudan.
She underlined UNHCR’s readiness to provide the necessary support to Sudan in various areas related to human rights norms.
