Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey Fouad Oktay stressed the keenness of the Turkish leadership on its strategic relations with Sudan,
During his meeting with the Minister of the Federal Government and Envoy of the President of the Republic of the Republic to Turkey Hamid Momtaz, Oktay reiterated Turkey’s full alignment with Sudan in the face of challenges targeting its security and stability.
Momtaz handed over Oktay a letter from President Al-Bashir to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the development of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries. The meeting reviewed the details of the strategic partnership projects in preparation for the meetings of the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation between the two countries.
Momtaz also briefed Oktay on the situation in Sudan following the recent protests, pointing to the steps taken by the government to address the economic situation in the short and long term. Meanwhile, the minister met with the chairman and members of the Turkish-Sudanese Friendship Group and also met with Jodat Yilmaz, President of the ruling Justice and Development Party. During the two meetings, Momtaz discussed the support and development of bilateral relations in the parliamentary and partisan fields.
