Prime Minister (PM) Abdallah Hamdouk has been acquainted on the outcomes of the assistant to UNHCR’s visit to White Nile and North Darfur states and his meetings with officials, the refugees and the IDPs returning to their original villages.
This came during the prime minister meeting Tuesday at his office with assistant of UNHCR Mr. George William.
The UNHCR official told press following the meeting that Sudan has been hosting during the past period up to now more than one million refugees and 1800,000 displaced persons.
Moreover, George praised Sudan role for hosting this number permanently calling for benefiting from the democracy transition atmosphere for intensifying efforts to strengthen protection environment and the assistance provided to refugees and IDPs.
Meanwhile George urged the international community to offer all kind of support to Sudan government so it could be able observes its role in providing more assistance and protection to refugees and hosting communities in Sudan.
