Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir met on Monday with the head of the African Union High-level Implementation Panel (AUHIP), Thabo Mbeki on the sideline of AU 32th summit.
During which both side discussed the AUHIP movements to strengthen the peace process in Sudan.
The meeting attended by the High Representative of the President of the African Union for Silencing the Guns, Ramtane Lamamra.
Ambassador of Sudan to Ethiopia, al-Sadiq Bakhit said in a press statement that the meeting touched upon the overall situation in Sudan and the AUHIP next move in cooperation with AU other mechanisms.
He added that the idea of movement towards closer integration between the Horn of Africa’s countries has been discussed in response to the reconciliations that organized all the countries of the region after the arrival of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to the rule.
The Ambassador noted that there is a serious move to make these reconciliations integration process for the benefit of the peoples of the region.
