Russian Deputy Foreign Minister’s Visit to Sudan Postponed

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov’s visit to Sudan has been postponed to an undetermined date, Sudanese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Babikir Siddiq told Sputnik on Monday.

Bogdanov has expected to pay an official visit to Khartoum this week.

Siddiq said “The visit of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has been moved to the date which will be agreed upon later”.

The Sudanese Intibaha newspaper reported on Sunday that a high-ranking Russian official would arrive in Khartoum this week for talks on the situation in the country in addition to regional and international issues.

It pointed out that the visit of the Russian official “comes within the framework of deepening relations between the two countries, which will see important developments.”
