Its been headlined in the news the deep disagreements within the Sudan Liberation Movement-Abdul Wahid Nur (SLM-AW) between Othman al-Zain group and Mubarak Wildook in the area of Amo and elements of the commander General Abdul Qader Abdul Rahman, located at the headquarters of the military leadership “Turtanga.”
The news indicate that the military elements of the Qadoura group attacked the group of Zul-Nun Abdul Shafi, which belongs to the Othman Al-Zein group, which is currently in the area of “Du” eastern Jebel Marra.
The developments in the situation indicate the death and wounding of many leaders, among them Zul-Nun, commander of the Sultan Tirab Brigade in East Jebel Marra.
All Attempts Fail
Abdul-Wahid’s attempts to stop the development of the disagreements did not succeed, especially after sending conciliation committee but the committee has increased the distance and divisions between them following the announcing of a new structure in the field and its exclusion to the elements that founded the movement.
It is noteworthy that Abdul Wahid Nur is the one who objected to the new structure, but he dissolved it and appointed a new structure in which Abdul Wahid took over as president of the movement and Abdo Adam Harran as deputiy chairman and Qadoura as commander-in-chief, which caused resentment among the membership of the movement which led to the arrest of its founding leaders, Mujib al-Rahman al-Zubayr, Abdullah Abu Tuma and al-Ma’adah Khalil Mousi, which contributed to the division of these leaders after they left the prison and join the peace.
There is no doubt that the armed forces has defeated the remaining groups of the movement and found popular support and acceptance of citizens affected by the events and inhumane operations practiced by the rebel groups against them, which led the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of the Armed Forces during his recent visit to the Darfur states to urge the popular leadership and the leaders of the civil administrations to maintain security and to curb any attempts by the movement to rearrange their situation.
Security to Protect Citizens
In the last visit to Jebel Marra, the Joint Chiefs said that the Security activities came to protect the citizens, collect weapons and instilling a sense of respect for the Government and face the violations carried out by remnants of the movement of Abdel Wahed, which tried to cut the roads and intimidate the residents and displaced them and try to impede the process of voluntary return and the fail the agricultural season, which requires the armed forces to address these actions, the security of citizens and the protection of their property and the consolidation of the pillars of security and stability achieved in Darfur.
Recently, Abdul Wahid Nur has lost many of its military positions in addition to its loss of international support and popular support from the people of Darfur, as well as suffering of many internal problems and ongoing schisms due to the absence of vision of its leader Abdul Wahid, splits and escapes from the field.
Three conflicting groups
It seems that the disagreements within the Abdul Wahid movement led to the existence of three conflicting groups in the field, where the first group was led by the commander-in-chief Abdul Qader Abdul Rahman Qadoura in the south and west of Jebel Marra, and the second group was led by Osman Zein in the northern Jebel Marra, And support from the head of the movement.
While the third dissident group led by Zul-Nun Abdul Shafi, representing the group of the sons of East Jebel Marra, is in a fierce fight with the General Commander Group because of the recent operations of qualifying among the field leaders that follow Zul-Nun Abdul Shafa, which led to the separation of the apartment between the two sides.
According to observers of the events in the movement of Abdel Wahid, all attempts by the movement leader to push groups of membership in the Kampala to join the field in order to raise the morale of the fighters has failed, but the move found rejection from the field leaders and some of them refused the head of the movement instructions.
The recent victories of the armed forces in areas of the West Jabal Mara increased the differences and lead to the escape between the fighters and dispersal of the movement forces and shook confidence in some of its forces, making them accuse some of them to communicate with the government and withdraw from the positions of the movement without resistance, which led to the liquidation A number of its elements.
These victories showed the weakness of the rebel forces and their inability to take any action, even if limited, to create a media momentum that is trying to disrupt the situation of stability in Darfur.
