Sudan express readiness to continue dialogue with US and EU


The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dardiri Mohammed Ahmed, renew the desire of the Government of the Sudan to continue dialogue and engagement with the United States (US) in the second phase of the dialogue, in addition to opening the doors of dialogue with the European Union.

He conformed during a meeting on Tuesday of the African Union (AU) and European Union (EU) Foreign Ministers held in Brussels , and conformed Sudan’s efforts in supporting regional stability.

He referred to the achievement of peace in southern Sudan and the hosting of peace negotiations between the parties in Central Africa In addition to Sudan’s efforts in the fight against illegal immigration through the Khartoum process and in accordance with the decisions of the Valletta Summit. Despite economic difficulties, Unilateralism by the United States, Sudan renews its commitment to peacemaking and regional stability

The Minister participated in the IGAD Foreign Ministers’ Special Meeting with the EU Commission and held side meetings with a number of his African and European counterparts on bilateral relations and regional developments.

The commissioner for peace and security, Ismael Sharqi, and a number of foreign ministers, expressed appreciation for Sudan’s role in supporting regional stability.
