The government of Sudan reaffirms that its concern for the security and stability of Libya is comparable to its concern for its own security and stability.
During his participation in the Palermo conference in Italy on Libya, the Foreign Minister, Dardiri Mohamed Ahmed said the government is participating in the international and regional events to restore security and stability in the region.
He praised the efforts exerted by UN Secretary-General’s envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salameh.
He also express Sudan’s willingness to exert more efforts in this regard, with specific regard to the security and stability in south Libya.
He referred to the cooperation between the neighboring countries of southern Libya (Sudan, Chad and Niger) to counter the dangers of terrorism, human trafficking and transnational organized crime.
He cautioned ” its better to curb this phenomena immediately and decisively, and not to wait for the political settlement for the serious consequences of this phenomena.
