Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir, on Wednesday, sent a telegram to Congratulated US President-elect Donald Trump on his U.S. presidential election victory, saying “I am pleased to convey to Your Excellency in my name and on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Sudan warmest and most sincere congratulations on your election as President of the United States of America, wishing your Excellency guide and help the American people, progress and prosperity, looking forward to work with you to upgrade relations between our two friendly countries.”
The Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour said Sudan respects the American people their option of choosing a new president, Donald Trump, pointing out that Sudan will continue to engage in dialogue with the United States in order to reach a full understanding in the establishment of normal relations.
He called upon the new US administration to remember that “there is an innocent state under American sanctions for more than 20 years” and effect on its people.
In turn, the National Congress Party in Sudan announced it welcomed the American people’s choice.
The Secretary of the political party said, “We welcome the choice of the American people in the management of its affairs as an internal process.”
