U.S. charge d’affaires in Khartoum, Brian Shukan said there are efforts to remove the name of Sudan from the terror list, but it need times.
The Sudanese Foreign Minister, Asmaa Mohammed Abdullah met in her office on Sunday the US Chargé d’affaires.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and the establishment of new frameworks for cooperation between the two countries.
During Which, Brian said Trump’s decision to extend the state of emergency for another year is not a reinstatement of the economic sanctions that were canceled by 2017.
For her part, the Minister expressed her understanding on the reasons for the issuance of the resolution, and stressed that the new government will do its utmost to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, and push them towards broader horizons.
She noted the government’s interest in removing Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, and stressed the importance of looking at positive developments in the country.
