Sudan welcomes the UN resolution to lift its name from violations of children’s rights

She higglighted that the armed forces and other regular forces have known throughout its history by carefully protecting the rights of civilians, including children, and has not recruited any children in its various formations.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday evening on the occasion of the United Nations Declaration on the lifting of the name of Sudan from the list of violators of the rights of children in areas of conflict – this means that Sudan and its laws respect the rights of children and consistent with them, Praising the efforts of the President of the Republic Omar al-Bashir to adopt the Council of Ministers plan to remove the name of Sudan from the list and his first  vice President  (FVP) And Prime Minister  Bakri Hassan Saleh to oversee the implementation of the plan in coordination with the armed forces and other regular forces.

The Minister of Social Security and Development also praised the efforts of the relevant ministries (Ministry of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Education.) to implement the plan and the solidarity of international partners.

On the same level the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Osama Faisal, , stressed that the UN resolution is the culmination of the efforts of the government and its relevant ministries in implementing the plan to remove Sudan from this list, adding that several international delegations visited the country to ensure the implementation of the agreed plan.

He explained that the Secretary-General of the United Nations praised the efforts of Sudan not to use civilian facilities for military purposes and not to recruit children and not to receive complaints in this regard against Sudan.

He added that the lifting of the name of Sudan from this list will be an additional incentive to exert more efforts in several other international issues of interest to the Sudan to lift its name on the US list of countries sponsoring terrorism, indicating that the discussion with the United States in this regard will begin soon.
