The Professors from University the of Khartoum, in cooperation with Al-Ayaam Center for Cultural Studies and Development, has organized on Saturday a workshop on “Social Transformations and the Future of Security Sectors in Sudan”.
The workshop attended by the Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Aisha Mussa, the Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok, Director General of the General Intelligence Service(GIS), Abubakar Dumblab and a group of experts, academics and others.
Speaking at the workshop, Aisha expressed hope that the gap between civil and military will be bridged, stressing that there is no nation without knowledge or security, calling for the need to work and pave the way to achieve security and stability and to resolve the economic crisis in Country, SMC reported.
For his part, Hamdok praised the role of the General Intelligence in the protection of economic security and the fight against terrorism and extremism and its role in international relations, indicating that the GIS has competencies and can play its role in these Issues.
Meanwhile, Dumblab affirmed the readiness of the GIS to deal with the workshop’s outcomes and recommendations in a professionally, pointing out that the intelligence services play a pivotal and important role in achieving stability and peace in the all country.
