The Fact-finding Committee Sworn before the President of the Republic


The members of the fact-finding committee had been sworn in before the President of the Republic, Omar al-Bashir at the presidential place on Wednesday.

The President of the Republic has formed the committee under the Commissions of Inquiry Act of 1954 in the presence of the president of the Judiciary, Abdulmajeed Idris.

The head of the committee, the Minister of Justice Mohamed Ahmed Salem said in a press statement following the swearing ceremony that the committee consist of a number of state ministers of the Ministry of the Cabinet, the federal government in addition to representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) and the Attorney General.

He explained that the mission of the committee is to collect facts about the recent events in some states, and to limit the losses, quantifying the damages and identified the responsibility.

The Minister affirmed the objectivity and impartiality of the committee in order to play its role optimally.
