The Voluntary Repatriation and Resettlement Commission has reveled its plans for 2019 targeting a number of service and development projects in Darfur.
the Commissioner for Voluntary Repatriation and Resettlement Prince Taj Eddin Ibrahim al-Tahir, , said the UNHCR plan for 2019 had been prepared according to the Ministry of Finance guidelines that target programs and projects that have a bearing on people’s lives and pensions.
He conformed that the plan aims to provide voluntary return requirements for 700,000 returnees by creating conditions for voluntary return and stability in 430 districts.
He said that the plan targets basic service projects such as health, education, water, police stations as well as provision of shelter materials, food and means of livelihood.
He added that the plan included providing services in areas of resettlement and integration for the willing and a number of programs and activities.
He said that the cost of implementation of the plan for the year 2019 amounted to (3.4) billion Sudanese pounds contribution from the Sudan Government in addition to the contribution of national and international partners.
