Turkey First Official Comment on the Protests in Sudan

Turkey’s ruling party comment for the first time on the protests in Sudan two weeks ago, stressing that “Turkey is aware of the machinations being waged against Sudan.”

According to the Anadolu news agency, the deputy chairman of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Cevdet Yilmaz said his country ” will always support the Sudanese people and their legitimate government.”

During a meeting with the Sudanese ambassador to Ankara Yousuf  Ahmed al-Tayeb, Yilmaz said ” Turkey  will not accept the unjustified blockade on Sudan”.

He explained that his country is aware of and follow-up the recent movements in Sudan, stressing his country support to the Sudanese people and his legitimate government, adding “Turkey has faced such plots,and those who are trying to destabilize Sudan by provoking such moves will not succeed”.

For his part, Ambassador Yousuf  stressed the importance of increasing cooperation between Turkey and Sudan, stressing that “the Sudanese people do not want the outbreak of these events.”
