UAB: Washington is keen to deal with Sudanese banks


The Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks (UAB), Wissam Hassan Fattouh has announced on expected meeting in March with Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury sanctions official in Washington to discuss the lifting of the name of Sudan from the American black list and the resumption of financial exchange with Sudanese banks.

According to (SMC) Fattouh said that the Sudan has met all the requirements related to the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

He noted that he will inform the US sanctions official of the positive report issued on Sudan recently, stressing that through communication and meetings with the American side that Washington is keen to deal with all banks Including Sudanese banks.

He explained that the Union of Arab Banks will continue its efforts with the US Banking Supervision Department to expedite the lifting of the ban on financial and banking correspondence with Sudan.
