Uganda Calls On South Sudan Parties to Commit to the Khartoum Agreement


Uganda confirmed its support for the initiative of the Sudan’s President Omar AL-Bashir, to complete the peace talks in South Sudan, indicating that it supports the efforts of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and Sudanese mediation to bring security and stability to South Sudan.

Speaking to the SMC, Uganda’s top adviser to Yoweri Museveni, Najwa Gadah Al-Dam said that South Sudan’s stability is a top priority for the state of Uganda.

She indicated that the stability of south Sudan is stability of Uganda, Sudan and all the countries of East Africa, calling on the southern parties to committed the Khartoum agreement signed by the southern parties.

She added, we expect the participation of President Yoweri Museveni at the final signing ceremony if conditions allow him to participate.
