Ugandan Authorities prevent Opposition Group to Hold Workshop in Kampala


Ugandan authorities rejected Sudanese opposition groups belong to the Communist Party request to hold a workshop in Kampala last week.

Sudan Democracy First Group (SDFG) and Al Khatim Adlan Centre for Enlightenment and Human Development (KACE) have urged the opposition and armed groups to hold a workshop in Kampala on February 13 -14 to discuss coordination between them and building an opposition alliance, but the Ugandan authorities refused that and warned the group that it will arrest anybody participate in the workshop.

The Sudan Liberation Movement North Sector (SLM-N) issued a statement expressing reservation on participation in the workshop after receiving verbal invitation to attend.

The SLM-N statement affirmed that it has clear reservation toward the group, adding that it did not delegate any party or person to represent it in the workshop, referring to Yassir Arman’s group.
