The delegation of the US Congress, which is currently visiting Sudan discussed several files with the Assistant to the President, Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, on Tuesday, in Khartoum.
Also attending was the Minister of Animal Resources Bishara Juma Aror.
Ibrahim assured the delegation of Sudan’s commitment to peace in the two regions (South Kordofan and Blue Nile).
Minister of Animal Resources Bishara Aror said in a press statement that the meeting discussed a number of issues, including the national dialogue, peace, relations between Sudan and the United States of America and religious freedom, as well as government relations with the opposition inside and abroad and political issues in the country.
Bishara said that the delegation listened to enlightenment on the situation in Sudan after the national dialogue and its orientation towards constitutional dialogue. He also briefed them on the signing of the road map presented by the high-level mechanism within the framework of achieving peace in Sudan.
For his part, the representative of the US Congress delegation said, “Our discussions today in the framework of the talks we are conducting during our three-day visit,” adding, “We listened to enlightenment and we discussed very frankly the course of the national dialogue.”
He said they applaud this dialogue, which will lead to lasting peace in Sudan, noting that the meeting discussed the issue of relations between Sudan and the United States.
